Technology has made the world a lot smaller and more connected. As a result, fashion today reflects global trends. Many clothing styles from around the world have hit the runways. For example, Asian trends, in particular, have made their mark on the industry. Chinese characters are often displayed on t-shirts and tattoos. Japan, especially Tokyo, its capital and main style center, is one of the most chic cities on the planet. Japanese women, known for their use of color and their bold, daring styles, have also greatly contributed to the fashion world. Designers often look to them for inspiration; for example, Gwen Stefani’s fragrance and handbag like, Harajuku Lovers, incorporates Japanese trends. Hello Kitty, which is all the rage in Japan, is gaining popularity in other parts of the world as well. In addition, Japanese denim is very high-quality and is used in designer jeans.

Asia is not the only continent to influence the runways, however.  South American (especially Brazilian) and European (Spanish, British, French, and Italian) trends also rock the runways.
